In Honor of Purple Day

Thursday, March 26th, 2009
by Truddle

Corina from Wasted Days and Wasted Nights made a wonderful blog post today in honor of Purple Day. It is a reminder to all of us that epilepsy is more than a disease, it is someones reality!
Thanks for putting a voice to these stories Corina!

Purple Day Sightings: On the way to the office

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Attorney D.J. Rausa got into the Purple Day spirit by wearing a purple shirt to the office.

Something tells me his girlfriend Beth had something to do with his enthusiasm.

Purple Day Sightings: In the coffee shop

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Our staff writer Beth had a friend snap this picture of her wearing her purple socks… on her hands!
Beth said her thigh-high, tie-dyed purple socks were too fabulous to be worn under jeans, so she slipped them over her hands and up her arms.

She told me, “It was kind of tough holding the coffee cup [...]

When I came across this purple image by woodnorth images I knew I just had to ask for permission to include it here with our Purple Day images.

Woodnorth images gave us permission, and sent along this message to pass on.
"The thistle. Most people see the sharp thorns along the stem, the jagged [...]

Purple Day - Wisteria and Mountains for Cassidy

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Over the next several days we will be posting "Purple Sightings" in honor of Purple Day. I’d like to begin with this photo taken in June 2008 of purple wisteria in the foreground and a mountain in the background. I choose it because the strength of the mountain reminds me of the strength Cassidy and [...]

Dr. Greene Goes Glam for Glamour Magazine

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Glamour magazine recently asked our own Dr. Greene to write an article about eating organic for their Health & Fitness Department.
His piece, “5 Foods Every Woman Should Eat Organic,” is on the shelves now in the issue that celebrates their 70th birthday! Just look for the copy with Katie Holmes on the cover.
I love that [...]

Baby Acne

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

From the adorable pictures of little Andy’s blessing, I’d guess that his baby acne is all gone.  As Dr. Greene points out, our precious little bundles can break out with red bumps at around 3-4 weeks. The acne relates to mommy’s surge of hormones right before birth, and the condition may come and go for [...]
