Purple Day Hyacinth

by Truddle

When we spotted Heather’s purple hyacinth we knew it would be perfect for a Purple Day photo.

We contacted Heather and she agreed and gave us permission to post her photo here, along with this message.

"I’ve spent my morning doing my typical morning things wondering what I could say about this hyacinth and how it connects to Purple Day other than the fact that it’s purple. Epilepsy and hyacinths seem to be a world apart."

"Then it hit me. Cassidy started Purple Day so that others with epilepsy might not feel like they are alone. The hyacinth bloom is made up of individual flowers that combined make one of my favorite flowers. They are the first thing to bloom in my yard, a sign of hope that spring is on it’s way and sunnier days are ahead. It’s not the individual flower that gives the feeling of hope, it’s all of the flowers combined together."
