Dr. Greene in USA Today

USA Today called upon Dr. Greene to answer questions about chemicals in cleaning supplies and natural alternatives.

There are two reasons Dr. Greene called conventional cleaners made with petroleum products “the most common and worrisome pollutants” in America. First, household cleaners were the reason for about a quarter of the calls to poison-control centers in New York City. They send about 80,000 kids to emergency rooms each year, and almost three-quarters of non-fatal poisonings involve kids under age 2.

Secondly, cleaners contain environmental toxins, volatile organic compounds and phthalates that are known to cause harm. I love Dr. Greene’s video for Healthy Child Healthy World where he shares the dangers of exposure to toxic chemicals in our homes and what we can do to protect our family.
